It’s the most important element as it has the greatest influence on a diamond sparkle. Even if the diamond has an ideal color grade or clarity, it may appeal dull if it has a poor cut.
If the diamond cut proportion is correct, light is returned out of the top of the diamond. If the cut is shallow, light will leak out of the bottom. If it’s too deep and it will escape out of the side.
|Excellent||Maximum polish, symmetry, brilliance, fire, and scintillation|
|Very good||Much of the light is appropriately reflected|
|Good||Light is properly reflected but the fire and brilliance are not intense|
|Fair||Light escapes, and the fire and brilliance are quite dull|
|Poor||Diamond appears dull with the light escaping the stone|
BUYING TIPS: Choose the highest diamond cut grade within your budget range. We suggest to select a grade of GOOD or VERY GOOD.
